They don't have to buy the stock, they can simply borrow the stock for the purpose of using it for the votes as well.

It is done in the same way as when a shorter borrow the stock to cover his shorts. When he fininshes with it, the borrower will return it to the lender.

The borrowing is done via paying a fee to the lender of the stock. And I am sure that there will be someone out there more than willing to make any sort of money from his ADY investments. Especailly the ones who have and stand to, benefit from this particular issue.

It happens all the time. I do not like it at all, because it manipulate the investors in a very bad way while others are enforcing their own ideas unto them, but, for what it counts, me and you count very little with these ruthless people. We are just the pawns on the chessboard. Remember that.

But, that is the sharemarket for you. IMHO this is where ASIC should look into it in order to stop that from happening, because currently it is all legal, lol.
