continuous glucose monitoring, page-10

Just a random update. I recently got the Dexcom G4 and i have to say its awesome. Control wise it would be very hard to beat as your onto lows/highs very quickly and like Powerball mentioned you have a read on what your blood sugars did while sleeping. With that alone i think it severely limita the long term effects of having unstable blood sugars.

The only real con is the cost. Its not just expensive to purchase but the ongoing costs are ridiculous ie For someone working an average wage job, with a sizeable mortgage and a swag of kids simply wouldnt be able to afford it and if i had a baby/young kid with type 1 it would be a device that could somewhat put your mind at ease day-to day.

If anyone stumbles across a start up company or the like thats developing similar and more affordable products id be most definitely interested in knowing about them (and possibly investing in)

Any type 1 ppl/parents have any questions, hit me up and ill pass on my email addy.

    Peace

    Karl
