BQT Solutions to supply major New Zealand Health
site with its Biometric Fingerprint Technology.

John Genner, Managing Director, said “Over the past ten years BQT has supplied its Smart Card based security systems to a number of Australian Hospitals and Clinics. We are pleased to supply the BQT Biometric Fingerprint Readers to a major Health site in New Zealand.

This is an important step in the upgrade of security, particularly when it ensures only those approved people enter the designated areas such as nurseries, operating rooms, drug dispensing areas, for example. BQT Solutions will have its BT910 Mifare Biometric Fingerprint Reader installed to increase patient safety and user efficiency by quickly identifying
or restricting the staff member or patient accessing certain areas within the complex. An audit trail is also provided so as to track staff or patient movements.

The International Biometric Group’s “Biometric Market Report 2003-2007” projects that annual biometric revenues in the health care sector will grow from $78.5 USD million in 2003 to $371.2 USD million in 2007.
We believe that this move has been driven by an increasing need to maintain and improve health and safety standards. BQT has for a number of years identified that the health industry will be one of the most rapid areas of adoption of biometric technology, and we are looking at further increasing sales by providing major health sites with a range of Biometric applications that we have to offer, such as IRIS Recognition and Biometric computer devices, such
as our PC Login PROSuite 5 application.

The range of Biometric applications that BQT has to offer reinforces our position and is clear direction that shows it as a positive identification step by major health sectors to protect against theft of user identifications and passwords and this will clearly help ensure that only authorised users can access sensitive data or secure areas.

Over the coming months, a number of new Defence and government projects have been identified in New Zealand, and BQT will looking at strengthening our market there, as we have done so in Australia and overseas.
