Do you think that Soft-tex would also be the major supplier of treated Socks for Foam Mattresses?.

If Serta were interested in the FR socks, then possibly yes. Serta entered into an agreement with Soft-Tex around the same time as Alexium and Soft-Tex’s agreement. According to Soft-Tex, it was appointed as “an innovation partner, providing sourcing, supply chain management and marketing services to SSB related to new technologies”. So, Soft-Tex effectively became a middleman in Alexium’s relationship with SSB. I assume that meant reduced margins for Alexium on any SSB sales. On the other hand, Alexium would have picked up extra sales through supply to Soft-Tex Reactex brands such as Therapedic and Epic Chill.

Of course, SSB might be happy to stay with their current FR barrier solution which is said to be “made primarily from cotton or other cellulosic renewable fibers and use no harmful chemicals or processes.”

And there’s also the possibility that Soft-Tex might not want to venture into the area of FR barriers.

Certainly, if there were to be a supply agreement with Soft-Tex for the FR socks, one wouldn’t want it to be exclusive, imo.
