Not really off topic because the crown of thorns is the cane toad of the sea but I heard y'day that they have a new product to inject them with. This will allow a diver to kill more in a day. Still manual control but that's all we have ATM. Did a quick search:

I still have a vision of "Green Armies" doing something useful and taking to the water in their hundreds. They would get fit and healthy and learn how to dive at the same time. As it is we all TALK about the GBR but few ever get in the water with it, up close and personal. I've done it, it is truly memorable.
