I was looking for current issue with bauxite and potential upside of the commodity when I stumbled across an article from CSIRO "Australian Bauxite: Innovating bauxite products". If you can't see the link then google CSIRO with article title.

This article talks about innovation currently under research by Australian Bauxite to progress their Alcore project to convert bauxite into aluminium fluoride, Australian Bauxite collaborated with CSIRO in a project supported by an Entrepreneurs' Programme Innovation Connections grant.
Australian Bauxite (ABX) today release price sensitive announcement with title "Innovative Breakthrough Using Proprietary Technology" with more technical details and next step towards their research. Now, this will be proprietary technology of ABX if successful but there may be opportunity of partnering other australian bauxite manufacturer with royalty basis ..... IMO. If this technology successful then it will be game changing for bauxite producer particularly in australia.. IMO but obviously this is research project and like any other research project chances of failure or non-viability or may also exist equally... so it will be risk vs reward situation until the research work is completed but I will be closely watching ABX thread for sure for future announcements... ! It's cheaper to buy MMI then ABX anyways
I am not expert in Bauxite if anyone here knows anything this? Had MMI previously tried or going to try in this regards? because based on forward looking statement below the technology if successful then has potential to convert $50 per tonne into $800 per tonne (more than Iron ore)... IMO.
