I have a question to do with capital gains tax, I know this was brought up a while ago on this forum but my question is slightly different.
I hold TOXO and have for around 3 months. I want to avoid having to pay full capital gains tax, therefore I need to hold TOXO for another 9 months, to receive the 50% discount on CGT.
This is not possible as the options expire on the 31st Jan '06, however what I am wondering is if I exercise the options, and hold TOX for another 9 months, will I receive the CGT discount? OR will I need to hold TOX for 12 months from when I exercise? OR does the exercise of TOXO count as a sale that I must pay full CGT on? I hope my question is clear, any help is appreciated.
I don't have an accountant, but I might need to get one soon hehe
