    Had a look at Telstra's annual report and it looks like they wrote down the value of Fred by 21 million. Additionally, HealthConnex Group which is another E-Health solutions company they aquired by 17 mil:

    Their discount rate for Fred that would enable them to earn their money's worth from the aquisition has also raised to lofty levels:

    Good luck getting 15% returns in this environment Telstra!

    They do seem pretty optimistic though in their writing about Telstra Health:

    They're labeling it as one of their "growth" businesses of the future. Sounds like they overpaid for the acquisition, but I don't know whether they would want to give it up that easy.
