That eruption sure made some stunning photos.
I should have saved and posted it at the time, but was reading that since the late 1800's there have been very few major eruptions until now. MT Agung and Mt Pinatubo and the likes were major but the point made was the major eruptions have been fewer and with less emissions.
Another possible reason for the relative warming of the 20th century compared to the 19th century.
Imagine the likes of Mt Tambora erupting in this modern era. Communications, air travel messed with, famines, and global temps dropping a couple of degrees in months.
