I never interpreted the word nigger as being any more racist than the word abo. Sounds better than negro, or black Africian.
Most aborigines I know prefer abo to aborigine any day. But I suppose it all depends on how you say it.
If you ask any kid what's a coon? They will probably refer you to Daniel Boon's hat! Imho its the fuss the dogooders make that causes more harm to any language than the mere words that get used in it.
Whats next on the chopping block? ausie, pommy, yanky, kiwi, etc. Its not what you say - its how you say it that matters. (Like any word.)
