Cooper Cracks 1000 Barrels Of Oil Per Day
As forecast earlier in the year, during November 2004 Cooper Energy consistently broke
through 1000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
The Christies-2, Christies-3 and Worrior-2 wells have been tied into the production facilities
and production from the Worrior oil field, the Christies oil field and the Sellicks oil field all
contributed to this production of 1000 bopd net to Cooper Energy. The Arwon-1 well in the
Arwon oil field is yet to be brought onto production and the Joint Venture Partners are
currently reviewing the plans for this field.
The high production is expected to continue through the 2004-2005 financial year, which is
expected to enhance Cooper Energy’s asset and cash position. Trucking in the Cooper
Basin in South Australia remains to be the production bottleneck and the various Joint
Ventures are reviewing alternative routes, including installation of dedicated pipelines, to
alleviate this production bottleneck.
With oil still continuing to sell at high prices and current production levels, Cooper Energy is
currently fully covering its administration, business development, exploration, development
and production costs.
Cooper Energy has P50 reserves of 1.1 million barrels of oil at 1.10.04.
