Based on the acquisition price suggested by the Australian, i'd suspect they'd need to take a bigger equity raising? I was told the 125 was being sounded out to brokers, not privy to much more.
Possible the deal has a structure whereby COE issues convertible (or just plain old) notes to APA? APA just did a high risk debt buy of Basslink, so they might have the same plan with COE, repossess if things go pear shaped at COE.
Not sure what current lenders would think about that. I'm just left scratching my head how this is creating value for shareholders, the gains of being an operator are marginal here, especially on a poorly performing plant requiring capital expenses in the next year.
