Godwin’s law is the proposition that the longer an internet argument goes on, the higher the probability becomes that something or someone will be compared to Adolf Hitler.
It is generally accepted that when this point is reached that the thread should come to an end. No blame is attached to this. It just suggests that we have sunk to insults and are no longer having a discussion.
