Based on Cath's tweet 'I am aware of the announcement by Woodside' - I am wondering if this really is a done deal?
I mean, why wouldn't you say 'We're aware of the ConocoPhillips and Woodside Announcement and will make an Announcement Monday' or something like that? - but she didn't mention ConocoPhillips.
I am wondering if it is possible that Conoco and Woodside have simply 'continued through the process of the buy/sell transaction? I recall originally that they wanted it wrapped up towards the end of the year - I think November was mentioned. Maybe it is them saying 'hey, we met PE requirements, the deals going through' - however, it didn't mention anything about 'Senegal government approval' - there was no mention of that, they simply said that the Senegal government supported them during exploration and appraisal.
I have a feeling this could be more BS. God I hope it is.
Another 'I am aware of ann X' comment - does not sound like a mutually agreeable PR announcement / exercise to me.
