Australia has one of the higher tax rates in the world.

Under Labor governments in the states (and no doubt, in time, Federally, if Albanese manages to hang on in 2025), the number of public servants has exploded. Many are backoffice/administrative staff who largely merely contribute to growing Budget deficits (Victoria worst followed by Queensland, but Western Australia also blowing money yet can't even provide a decent health system).

Far better that coal royalty rates not be increased, and revert to what they were before recent Qld/NSW percentage rises. This would facilitate more investment in mining, and more jobs, as the demand for product is there.

Wind and solar panel projects would mostly not survive if there were no or fewer government grants. These forms of power generation are pushing up energy prices for household and businesses. Meanwhile coal, gas and nuclear are demonised or ignored by socialist governments.
