Looks to me like an old photo - taken soon after the well was drilled and the drill rig superstructure is being removed by the crane in the background. The dirt and cement around the well seem fresh.
If you go to Google Maps (latitude -37.837321 longitude -71.100956) you'll see the well venting beside the building and no other equipment. The GM image was taken in November 2008.
I'd take the news item found by CJ with a big grain of salt (I didn't listen to the audio). ADI-NQN is essentially the local province which owns the project and licensed it to Geothermal One. EHR then JV'd into the Geothermal One licence but since then seems to have missed all its funding and work program commitments.
What might be really interesting is if ADI-NQN has revoked Geothermal One's licence due to non-performance. I recall the original tender had a two-year time-frame for results.
