Sorry, I think that is a terrible example.
"Doctors", in general, are NOT biotechnology investors. They are medical experts. They do not understand: commercial partnerships, drug development, clinical trial design, insurance reimbursement laws, sales and marketing, etc.
Saying a potential drug is not a good investment because a doctor did not invest in early stage is like saying Facebook was not a good investment because I had a a computer programmer buddy who did not invest in the seed round.
