I know a share buy back is good for the share price but if we keep buying back our own shares on a regular basis we are going to make ourselves more attractive to a predator.(less shares for a predator to mop up.)
That is if a share buy back is to be a regular thing and not just a one off.
Another thing i have been considering is that although we refused the Chinese (state owned) because of the Woomera excuse, would we do the same to a large overseas co.(non state owned) and is Woomera really a defence facility worthy of such secrecy.I know it woudn't look good to refuse our biggest trading partner and then accept another less controversial offer.
On second thoughts we are now too reliant on the Chinese for our economic stability and as such the above scenario probably won't happen.
Just some musings- maybe some posters might want to add their thoughts on this.
