On the subject of comparisons to SIR, well I prefer to avoid companies that rely on hype/promotion. Let me add that I am not a trader and prefer to invest so it's horses for courses.
I like to see a company built on strong foundations via strong, prudent management and clear strategy. The GFC has proven to be an effective pressure test and AVB was not immune to it's effects and whilst it set them back at the time they have come though it in reasonable shape.
I have a firm belief that the re-rate will occur when there is a clear, demonstrated path to monetize the proven in ground resource. The design of that plan depends on the outcomes of current Vale negotiations. Institutional funds should flow this de-risking occurs. For me, I prefer to be in before that occurs so am happy for the SP to rest at these levels until then.
