BHP, the world's largest listed mining company, made an all-share buyout proposal to Anglo American. Why is this acquisition attractive to BHP:Copper and potash may be the main drivers. Anglo American copper portfolio spans across multiple low cost, long-mine life copper mines in Chiile & Peru. Plus, another 200 kt copper metal planned to come online over the next 6-10 years relating to internal copper growth projects.
