By 2050, the world needs 70% more copper!!!! That is 25 to 50 million tonnes of additional copper per year,
Need at least 50 new mines with each mine taking 25 years to develop and costing over 1 billion dollars to build (for a large copper sulphide mineral processing plant). In reality, "it just isn't going to happen" according to Merlin (speaker on Crux Investor).

Facts:

• Shortage of copper in coming years
• Copper price incentive needs to rise to encourage copper mine development

Companies that are going to benefit are:

• Ones with near term production potential
• High copper grades
• Smaller footprint
• good infrastructure
• Not high up in mountains
• Not miles inland from the coast
• Investors want near term value - not something that will give them value in 30 years time!!!!
