After the losses of FY23 and H1 of FY24, I wouldn't expect Aeris to be paying too much tax before FY26, so that figure of $17 million should drop straight to the bottom line.
Whilst the announcements about mining developments or resource upgrades are welcome, it highlights the lack of announcements about a financial strategy going forward. After the company's experiences during 2023 and the first quarter of 2024 (before the copper price rose above USD$4.00 per lb), you would think that cash earned would be at the forefront of management's mind!! With an excellent director like Robert Millner on the board, I would expect strong consideration to the best path forward is being discussed. Let's hope we get a clearer picture soon.
