Yep - as @miningnut says - the Round Oak acquisition was pretty much a capital destruction event that just ate money, a real learning experience for me in averaging down and the good 'ol "being early looks exactly the same as being wrong" story. Quite the tailwind of currencies and metal prices behind the rise in the AIS share price. Personally I'd still rather they concentrate on getting the Cobar assets developed and producing reliably and then wait for Zinc to finally wake up before pushing the go button on Jaguar provided some of the wage inflationary factors go away in WA. During this downswing several months ago I also topped up on AMI and brought into MAC despite some misgivings as the world carried on in its delusion that the world didn't need copper. This copper shortage is not definately structural and I don't see any easy way of developing more copper mines in the short to medium term unless the Government of Panama suddenly suffer a sudden case of sanity and get Cobre back into production.
