Cagey Tom - you sound a lot like somebody we used to know on AVL threads ... been around a while too I see.
It has been some time since we have had this sort of discussion going on - political risk, limited mine life, claims of inappropriate valuations, etc. It stopped suddenly around August last year when AVL started to run up some 300+%. :-)
IMHO the same opportunity is presenting itself right now! Take it, or leave it ....
