    re: copper price/inventory Are we just going through the 'normal' seasonal downturn in base metal consumption or are we seeing a definitive change in the base metals (especially copper) levelof comsumtion vis-avis production?

    I tend towards the former possibilty. Hence the copper chart from Kitco over the last twelve months shows a cu LME inventory in Sept '04 of approx 110,000 tonnes compared the current 60,000 tonnes. After Sept'04 cu LME stocks again declined substantially.
