It would appear so. Tesla was having issues with Nickel supply.
Remember Telsa signed a deal with Prony for New Caledonia's Goro Nickel Mine back in Mid 2022 which has seen 5 recorded acid leaks since 2010 flowing into the pristine coral reef nearby. Mining giant Vale sold the mine to a consortium of locals, Trafigura & New Caledonian Gov called Prony.

“Prony Resources said on Wednesday Tesla Inc had agreed to purchase around 42,000 tonnes of nickel in a multi-year deal – a pact that is set to make the New Caledonian miner a key supplier of the metal to the U.S. electric car maker. ”The new group aims to produce 44,000 tonnes of nickel by 2024, which is about twice as much as what Vale planned to produce in 2022.
Materials are not urgently required until you can't obtain what you want or need.
