PieChart, NCM batteries were never cheaper than LFP last year as far as I'm aware? Do you have a reference for this?
According to what I've read LFP batteries rose 27% in price but remained cheaper than NCM by 20% in fact in 2022.
This may have changed a bit and NCM has its place. But I still believe LFP is cheaper.
Recycling is great but remember LFP doesn't need to be replaced nearly as fast NCM. They last a lot longer over time. The energy used to process nickel as well as Cobalt is immense so I disagree with this also.
LFP would be idea for storage as it weighs more and doesn't need to push a car or need power to go from 0-60kmh in just over a second. Plus it's less likely to catch fire and burn your house down.
I don't believe for a second that the cobalt price easing has seen NCM now be cheaper.
