You made some good points, Yes, the DRC does have a lot of artisanal miners which was recently highlighted by Siddharth Kara about cobalt mining in the Congo on Joe Rogan episode #1914. A lot of mines in the DRC are Chinese owned. China doesn't give a rats *ss about how they get their minerals and will continue to buy cobalt from the artisanal miners. So Chinese battery makers have that distinct advantage of cheaper mining inputs to make their batteries. The Western world trying to eliminate that practice is unlikely to change anything until multi-billions of US$$ are injected into the DRC economy. You don't see the DRC politicians addressing this issue either so until it becomes a DRC national priority the world as we know it will continue to revolve.

Tesla have made deals to ensure their Nickel supply. See Post #: 65837318

Mining magnate Robert Friedlander says copper is so important in electrifying the global economy that adequate copper development has become a national security issue. His view is in line with bullish analysts such as Nicholas Snowden of Goldman Sachs with the lack of copper mining projects, which will lead to a multi-year bull market in copper.

Copper will get added to the critical minerals list Post #: 66069365
