It's a perplexing situation. Say CYM fail to obtain finance, who would buy Nifty or finance Nifty in the future? Nobody, after 2 failed attempts at raising Nifty.
But Nifty is the 6th largest copper deposit in Australia, so the financiers will give the green light eventually. Like you say the bankers are just dragging their feet waiting to see what happens to the economy. CYM is Barry's retirement plan so he is super keen to see the project go ahead while obtaining maximum value.
Having said that the Russian-Ukraine war will likely end sooner rather than later. I can't see this dragging out for too much longer. Vlad's plans are in backfire mode currently. Wiil Vlad survive the next assassination attempt?
Elon Musk is already calling for reduced interest rate rises by the FED. Appears Elon's thinking the FED will over-reach the rate rises, then tanking the economy. Meanwhile, Jerome Powell has continuously been way behind the curve so it appears Musk's call is well founded.
