No - its because his job is to effectively manage the company for the benefit of shareholders - which includes things like promotion and keeping the market (holders and potential buyers of shares) informed of activities including important milestones like the value received from the first shipment of concentrate, production rates and production improvements month on month - so as the share price hopefully appreciates and increases the value of of the holding that shareholders have. When quarterlies are consistently lodged at about 8pm on the very last day that they can be submitted I start to wonder about the MD of the company because that suggests poor time management skills amongst other things.
