spot on mission - i've always held the opinion if you make enough predictions sooner or later you're bound to get one right.
as far as copper is concerned if you keep on eye on LME stockpile then you can make a prediction based on at least one of the variables affecting price - it won't always be a perfect methodology but at least it has some basis in fact. to come on to a forum and spruik that copper will fall to $1/lb is pure supposition - back it up with some reasoning. backwards wayne may well turn out to be correct and no doubt will announce it with much fanfare.
and yes mission, what does it profit one to correctly predict something if you don't actually make any monetary gain from it?
