GFM,
You are correct. If Jantimont had bothered to do a little research ,he would have found in the 2007 Annual Report the following
"A programme of testing for separation of native copper metal was undertaken by Roche Minerals.
Preliminary results show that with relatively simple techniques high recoveries of native copper metal can be achieved.
Preliminary results indicate low levels of elements considered undesirable by smelters".
If Jantimont had done some further looking, he would have found this from the '26/8/2010 announcement :-
Bulk ore representative sample of Las Minerale central zone . The copper metal content of the clean native copper is 99.65% CU average and will be saleable in its own right.
It is now being evaluated using Melt stocks to determine the best way to convert it to higher value products such as Anode Copper and other cast products to sell to an end user or refiner" and from the announcement of 18/8/2010
'No deleterious elements are present in concentrate products in the last programme at concentrations in excess of those likely to attract a penalty from a smelter or other end use."
Or if Jantimont had looked further he would have found this from the announcement of 16/12/2010
'The clean native copper is 99.65 % CU and will be a welcome addition to many copper processing plants as a feedstock for subsequent refining to "five-nines" pure copper".
If Jantimont had done a little further looking, he would have found the following from the 2011 Annual Report "continuous gigs proven to produce high purity native copper metal stream at high recovery levels"
If Jantimont had done some further looking ,he would have found this from the 2012 Annual Report:-
"The native copper metal concentrate is expected to achieve premium prices compared to sulphide copper concentrates.
Native copper exists at Rocklands South as deep as 100 metres from surface. At Las Minerale large zones of coarse native copper continue from surface to depths of 150 metres and in some cases have been intersected in drilling down to 220 metres vertical from surface".
