One of the points put forward re. the future consumption of copper is that 60% (1.3 billion people) of the Chinese population who live in rural areas will in the next 25 years live in regional cities and as such the use of copper will continue to be in demand.
Also was the drop in July ( I think) manufactured by the Chinese who are actually looking to acquire assests in companies worldwide that produce copper (Noranda) and nickel (HIG).
