As I understand it, the inclusion of copper on the official United States Critical Minerals list would allow for streamlined regulations and faster development of new copper mines.
Inclusion of copper on Australia’s critical minerals list could notionally improve the chances of local copper mining companies (explorers and developers) getting grants through federal support funds, such as the $2 billion ‘Critical Minerals Facility’, the $15 billion ‘National Reconstruction Fund’ and the $600 million ‘Powering the Regions Fund’.
