The materials going into batteries are popular currently - cobalt, lithium, nickel etc.

Thinking more widely, does anyone have a view about copper?

With the uptake of home batteries, electric vehicles, solar panels, internet of things and electric motors - there must be an increased demand for copper to wire all this stuff together into electrical systems. Seems that whatever happens with batteries has the risk of one or more elements either being over-supplied eventually (e.g. lithium) or turning out to be too expensive/non-essential for what ends up being the best battery tech.

    So:
Who are the biggest copper miners on the ASX?
Who are the most pure copper plays?
Who are the most efficient/lowest cost copper producers?
Who are the explorers/developers with the best copper prospects?
Is there any way to quantify world demand for copper over past years and into the future?
What are the biggest applications of copper?
Has copper already had its run, and it's too late?

    Your thoughts about copper appreciated.
