Hi BRR, in the BAE patent it specifically mentions metalstorm and it association with the IP, it was in that case just another extension of metalstorm IP but something that BAE would earn royalties for, in the US application it mentions neither metalstorm or BAE although there is 3 references to patents by metalstorm in there i.e

Just as an after thought on the US patent, they could also use a mixture of calibers i.e. say 4 by 40mm and say 4 by 12 gauge as well? this type of round can fire non lethal and lethal i.e wherein the non-lethal payload comprises one or more rubber balls, but they also mention bean bags etc , but the weapon can also fire lethal i.e wherein the lethal payload comprises shards of metal, this type of round would be the equivalent to grapeshot only on a repeatable basis, anyone who has seen what effect this can have on dismounted troops will understand just how lethal this is.

What people need to understand here is that these smaller caliber projectiles don't actually use the 120mm barrel as such, it is just using the breech, aiming and targeting system of the weapon as a cradle for the round and that has the smaller caliber barrels inside it, when the smaller caliber projectiles are fired they just travel up through the larger barrel without using it!

Why don't you ask Lee about patent protection or whether metalstorm are involved here? he is more than likely getting sick of me emailing him, as I did recently when I told him I was not happy with the lack of transparency on this equity deal and who is actually behind it, so I doubt I am his good books atm.
