I am the first to tell you when I am wrong!
I've been reading more on this patent,I can't say I am totally happy with what I am seeing, I can't access the drawings so it's a little difficult to envisage,I think I read it wrongly the first time round, but I am coming to grips with it now and this is far more sinister.

I believe the BAE patent is the same as how I have described in my last post and how it achieves this, that is it is designed to fire a projectile the same size as the barrel from a cartridge which is larger than the diameter of the projectile being fired, therefore the breach diameter is larger than the diameter to the barrel, this cartridge by BAE is designed to fire two or more projectiles at high velocity, but with this latest patent it is designed to fire both lethal and non lethal but at close range, so possibly medium pressure, it is using a similar method as the BAE bofors method but with multiple barrels as well? in this case the cartridge may contain several barrels of smaller calibre i.e, the larger cartridge may be made to fit a 120mm gun but inside the cartridge there are a number of barrels lets say 30mm and perhaps 9 of these barrels inside the larger cartridge, each of these barrels has a number of projectiles possibly up to 10 or more, from lethal to non lethal, so they are just using the larger weapon to fire smaller calibre lethal to non lethal rounds down the barrel of a larger calibre weapon, the barrels for the smaller calibre weapons are housed within the larger calibre cartridge inside the the conventional gun, so inside the larger 120 mm round, if we had 30mm projectiles and there were ten round in each barrel and there were 9 barrels inside this round then that would be 90 projectiles available.

So I had read this wrong initially, what they are attempting to do here is basically this, they could replace say a Firestorm weapon with a shell case, that holds a number of barrels it could be any calibre but lets say it has four 40 mm barrels in a round that could hold for instance say up to 40 40mm grenades or projectiles and using electronically fired stacked round technology?

I'm not totally sure I like this idea that much?
I hope metalstorm get some royalties at least on the stacked round thech?
