Thanks Fred, I was a tad hasty with this last patent though,it is very similar in some ways to the BAE patent, there are just more barrels as well.

Oh well better to get it right in the end, but I don't like the way they are looking at this, it won't help us much, it seems to me that they are using a similar technique as BAE did where they virtually stack the projectiles nose to tail, the propellant isn't behind the projectile it is around it, between the barrel and an outer wall of the casing, this allows a greater number of projectiles in a given length of barrel, that part is the same in this latest patent and also the BAE patent, as is the electronic firing, I can see why they would like something like this though, it means they will have the same sort of weapon as firestorm only more so, with a greater number of projectiles available, it also means the wont have to buy another weapon for their tanks for crowd control.

I dont see why metalstorm couldn't use the same sort of technology in the firestorm though, the bit where the grenades are stacked head to tail and the propellant is placed in an outer tube around the grenade, it allows them a greater number of grenades in the same barrel length, it would mean a larger breech diameter would be required on these barrels, that's all, if they can redesign the 3GL for better operation, then I can't see why they could not do the same here?
