You fail to understand the issues
Totally
The farmers are wonderful but that does not mean the run off does not do damage, And many work hard at mitigation so are not all red neck idiots as you imply. Wrong information helps nobody. It is wrong you would think that. It patronises them.
The run off impacts the inner reefs to the point many do not exist anymore, plus weed killers and such kill sea grass beds that are food for dugong, You could see coral along the seashore at one point, eg The coral gardens near Port, Gone.
It nis a collective responsibility. Not just farmers. In Cairns they have undertaken the cleaner seas sewerage treatment and other fiteration system to ensure the water is free from nutirients.
Coral bleaching will impact mid shelf reefs intially then later when warming really kicks in the outer reef will start to have fequent bleaching events, These events do not necessarily kill but increasingly more will die and recovery will have lower time frames. Some coral that need shorter time to re-populate will replace ohers resulting is loss of diversity. The "weeds" will take over but as they are not the reef builders hard corals are they will drown when sea level rises.
Your understanding is at a very low level and FNQ deserves far better. You do not make any sense, and even Warren is a "greenie" nw so the issue is not up for debate anymore, Your side lost.
I am a Cairns local as well. we do not call it NQ. Never, are you new?
