just as our ironbarks died back in 2018/19/20 --- extreme low humidity (<10%) and extreme temperatures over a seeming unnaturally long period killed many trees here. some recovered but not all. we had a strong (and noisy) koala population here before that drought. now we very rarely hear a grunter at night and have yet to hear a female responding.
