"population levels". is a key problem. and yes, its connected with warming due to the needs of increased numbers of people needing to live as industrialised nations. I certainly don't expect population decreases anytime soon.
medicine and nutrition have removed many of the causes of natural mortality. education, availability of contraception and womens equality across all nations should in time result in falling population but that ain't happening fast enough.
