shares007, that 18 months is a sunset clause, protection if something goes wrong with the Hanlong/CDB deal. It's a typical clause found in Conventions like these. Sure Sundance could try and find new finance now, push their luck with the Africans and whatever back room talks have taken place, but they would not have received the Convention and Permits from the respective Governments if they had no plan to finance the CAPEX. IMO a ludicrous proposition. When the Permits and Convention were issued there was a plan in place to move the project forward, a T/O with Hanlong. If no CAPEX funding proof was necessary, why were SDL chasing these things for 4 years for them only to turn up after Hanlong and the CDB showed up and had discussions with the Africans? I understand the situation quite well, do you?
