What a joke some in this government would happily throw people into the street, chase them for money they don't owe, and continue to erode the social services that define so called advanced economies. The only way to reduce the debt is to grow the economy and have as many contribute their fair share to invest in services. The economy is people not money. When you divorce the two as some would be happy to do it rarely ends well. They will quote the high taxing, high service Scandinavian countries when it suits their purpose and then ignore their example when it's too hard to tax those able to pay. It's the politics of GREED, pure and simple.

How Cormann can be seen to have any economic credibility is beyond me. I wonder how much better the economy would be without the needless and destructive shock of the 2014 Budget which he sadly had a hand in. Hardly a glowing endorsement of his economic credentials.

Little wonder he is speaking out when there is the chance his hand would get cold if he can no longer sit on them and actually do something of benefit unlike his 2014 effort.
