as much as I love your research, I think you've dropped the ball on your vaccine idea as being the first cab off the rank. Yes, a vaccine is urgently necessary, but it won't prevent a cure from being developed beforehand.

Biotron will release their test results soon, which ARE compounds for antivirals. If the results are positive - and we can expect that they will be for reasons that do not require repeating - then they'll be advancing on an antiviral cure directly.

The question outstanding is that what I raised in the first post of this thread. Can their technology be adapted to creating a vaccine too? The literature says it can.

So, I believe the conversation will go more like this:

Nerd 1: Wow, another ion channel closes with this cinnamoyleguanidine shit. Let's try one of the derivatives.
Nerd 2: Why? We've done it a hundred times all ready and the outcome is always the same.
Nerd 2: OK, put it in the antiviral bottle and clean up. Lets get a cuppa.
(30 seconds later with burnt lips)
Nerd 1: Pass me that mouse so that I can give it a jab with this attenuated vaccine candidate.
Nerd 2: Gee man, not another mouse. We've pricked a hundred already with that E Protein with the missing amino acids, and every mouse recovers when we give it a full blast.
