If this happens in anywhere but china, the complacency and stupidity amongst the ppl that thinks china cant control it but they can would lead to 1,000,000s of deaths. Not some low 1500 ish deaths
Healthcare in countries like america is non existence, any lock down would fiercely be challenged and utterly disregarded, use of force to enforce will pretty much guaranteed immediate armed response from the civilian population, where gun violence kills over 30,000++ annually
To lockdown hundreds millions of people is such a great feat that no other civilisation in human history can ever achieve. If corona ever reach africa and south america. It will likely decimate the population so hard that major cities would be nothing more than graveyards.
Such a full scale lock down can still rake up thousands of cases and hundreds of death daily, spells doom to other places that r completely oblivious to the threat it poses.
