the thing I can't get my head around is that there is a prediction of 50k-150k of deaths from covid19 in Australia as a worse case scenario. so saying we have a population of 25m people and taking 125k as the death rate that would be 0.5% of the population. then if I take that figure and add it to China's population of 1.3b, that would be a suspected death rate of 6.5million people . so China has had the disease for close to 3months and what is the death rate so far, 3-4k. I know it is only the start and China's quarantine measures are probably better than any other country could achieve, but even in quarantine there has to be a certain amount of movement and activity around the country to be able to feed that sort of population. so, I'm no expert and certainly not trying to downplay how bad the situation is but the above, are just some figures that just don't add up to me.

you can multiply China’s death rate by 20. the crematoriums have been working 24/7 and they had to bring in 40 portable ovens too for some unknown reason.
