    My doctors gave me a couple of boxes of Lariam (mefloquine) when I travelled asia and I remember reading about the horror stories deriving from long-term psychiatric effects on soldiers. It's been linked to some pretty brutal suicide- homicide incidents. for me the risks outweighed benefits for taking larium.

    I do wonder if chloroquine /hydroxychloroquine carries similar risks? Surely they would know if the drug is well tolerated as it has been so widely used in the past..
