up until last week schools were open in most countries. Restaurants open and then closed. For example Belgium closed restaurants and so the Belgians simply crossed borders to the Netherlands until they then closed their own. The North Sea beaches were packed the other day just like Bondi beach because it was a warm day. People are arguing over toilet paper around Europe and thankful there is no expiry date on it. And so on. The same madness everywhere but not the same love of music and sense of balcony magic
in fact my impression after all of this was that there may well be some common elements in government responses in the west even if there are differences. Their responses differ markedly from Asia where experience of SARS meant they took decisive action
people can also make choices to self isolate. I have a British friend who has worked from home for weeks now. Other workplaces have done the same or have spent time prepping for people to work from home. I know plenty of people who are just staying home.
one thing I think we will see is nothing will be quite the same again. In the mean time be nice. You might need help one day

I hoped of a loaded plan from Indonesia last night. A lot of people coughing, kid behind me vomiting. I would say no more than 10% were wearing masks. With that kinda loose attitude I wonder how many will really self isolate. Government saying wearing a mask if healthy is a waste of time. My question is why wouldn’t you wear one because for one you don’t know if u r sick until you have been around who knows how many people
