    death rate of flu = about 0.1 % so "not as deadly as flu" is a strange conclusion. If 30% of auatralian get it and 1% die over 12 months. That could be 1400 deaths a week with peaks way above that let alone the hundreds of thOriginally posted by hot froglettoousands who get very sick for weeks. Hope it is way less than those numbers but it aint "just the flu".
    The death rate is often quoted as 1 to 2%, but this is based on the number of deaths divided by the total number infected (including many who many are still to die).
