Research investigating the transmission of respiratory viruses amongst people in close proximity, even when study participants were deliberately infected with a flu virus, found that only about 20% of people developed symptoms of the infection. Up to 80% of people who were exposed to the virus did NOT actually develop the infection (Cannell et al., 2008).
Results from such research, and other viral infections, show that there are many more factors involved in an outbreak than it just being caused by a virus. We are seeing this again in the current pandemic too - of symptoms being very individual in severity and duration, and with many people being exposed but not getting symptoms at all (or merely very mild symptoms).
It’s not about the germ, it’s all about the host..
You have an innate ability to fight any infection and to heal - naturally. You need proper sleep, good nutrition, pure water, plenty of exercise and sunlight (to build natural vitamin D) and reduce stress (which is now extreme and chronic around the world which depletes the immune system).
Your gut represents some 80% of your immune system - so be sure to nurture your gut health (eat less sugar and processed foods and more fibre and other pre-biotic and pro-biotic foods).

certain vitamins and minerals have shown to help strengthen your immune system for improved health and better protection from infections. My family has been able to recover quickly from colds and flu using such methods including high-dose vitamin C, garlic, zinc, black elderberry syrup and oregano oil. Given it’s getting increasingly difficult to find these products, we are not alone in this proven holistic approach.
